The waters in Neath Port Talbot offer coarse, game and sea fishing, providing excellent sport for both pleasure and serious anglers.

Course

The Neath Canal has roach, carp, bream, tench and eels with the Tennant Canal include pike, rudd and tench available for fishers to enjoy.

The Gnoll Estate is known for large carp and rudd and is open to anglers from the end of June to mid March.

Margam Country Park has two large ponds, which are managed as a course fishery, daily fishing permits are available form the park.

At Glyncorrwg Ponds the two coarse lakes are stocked with bream, roach, and tench, and carp up to 38lb in weight.


Game

Brown trout and salmon can be found in the Rivers of Neath, Dulais and Afan. Sea trout (sewin) can also be found in the River Neath and River Afan.

Eglwys Nunydd Reservoir, run by the Corus Game Angling Association, is the place for rainbow, brown and blue trout.

At Glyncorrwg Ponds there is a third lake stocked with Rainbow Trout up to 25lb in weight.

Sea

Aberavon Beach offers all year round fishing for bass, flounder and white cod, with mackerel in the summer and pouting in the Winter. The dry docks in Port Talbot are exceptional for Bream fishing.
